Description
Coram is an established voluntary adoption agency that has been meeting the needs of children who cannot stay with their birth families for more than 40 years. Children waiting for permanent families can be a range of ages and come from a variety of cultural backgrounds, so we welcome a diverse group of adopters to help us find children their forever families.
Whatever point you’re at in your adoption journey, our experienced team of social workers warmly welcome you to come and find out more about adopting a child. We can help you think about what it will mean to become an adoptive parent, we will support you though the assessment and we will be there to help you with identifying the right child for your family. Coram also has an excellent programme of preparation before adopting, which is highly valued by adopters.
We actively support prospective adopters and adoptive parents and provide excellent support services. This includes a 12-week Parenting Skills course during the first year after a placement, as well as a further course for parents of adolescents, access to creative therapies and support with accessing CAMHS, SEND services and other post-adoption support.
As a regional adoption agency, Coram Ambitious for Adoption works across the whole of London as well as in partnership with local authorities (including Bromley, City of London, Harrow, Hillingdon, Kensington & Chelsea, Redbridge, Slough, Waltham Forest and Westminster). We bring together shared expertise to help more children find the security of an adoptive family.
