Description
Gateshead Adoption Service is a well established local authority agency with vast experience of placing children and approving adopters. We have children waiting for adoption now. We are a small, professional and friendly team offering a highly personalised service with an allocated social worker to support applicants throughout the whole process. The team are passionate about providing the best service possible to prospective adopters and children who need new families.
We aim to provide specialist advice and support regarding:
- the whole adoption process;
- after the child or children are adopted; and
- the possibility of Fostering for Adoption and whether this is a route you may wish to consider.
We welcome applications from people aged over 21 living within fifty mile radius of Gateshead. We consider all enquiries regardless of gender, ethnic origin, class, culture or sexuality. You can be working or not, single, married or in a partnership. The most important thing is that you are able to provide a stable, secure and loving family for a child or children.
In Gateshead, we believe that every child is entitled to a permanent, loving family throughout their childhood. If you are considering adoption, you can be sure that our team will be on hand to provide you with all the help you need every step of the way. We have a social worker available every weekday between 9.30 am and 5pm (4.30) on a Friday to take your call. Our supportive and dedicated team is ready to answer your questions.
