Lancashire’s Adoption Service consists of three teams: Recruitment and Assessment, Children Awaiting Adoption and Post Adoption Support. Each team provides a service across the County.
As the fourth largest Local Authority in the Country we have diverse mix of children awaiting adoption. We carefully match and place Lancashire children with approved adopters from the county and provide excellent ongoing post-adoption support services.
We have recently piloted a new route to adoption in North West – Concurrent Placements for babies aged 0-2. This is designed to give the youngest and most vulnerable children a better start in life. This way, children who are taken into care when they are born or soon after are placed with concurrent carers. These are prospective adopters who are also approved as foster carers.
The Recruitment and Assessment team can provide you with information and advice with regards to the adoption process and Concurrent Placements. You can telephone us or apply online or attend one of the Information Evenings held on a monthly basis.
