100 years of adoption

Our information events are a great way for you to learn more about the adoption process and how you’d be supported, both before and after the adoption order.

Our online information event will begin with a live presentation from one of our team managers, covering all of the need-to-know topics of adoption. Where possible, we will be joined by approved adopters from Adopters for Adoption, who will share their adoption story. The event will conclude with a Q&A session.

If you're considering adoption, our online presentation will give you all the information you need.

This will take about an hour and there will be plenty of opportunities to get your questions answered by our team on the day.

This is a free event with no obligation start the process. This event is for you, whether you've already decided to adopt or are just starting your research into the process.

An online information events specifically to explain the early permanence pathway to adoption and its benefits for priority children.

The Early Permanence route isn’t for everyone. It requires resourceful, emotionally resilient families who are willing to put the needs of the child first.

Please note, we ask that people have attended one of our regular adoption information events before registering for an Early Permanence event.

Attending one of our online adoption information events is a convenient way to find out more about adoption and our children’s charity.

Join online from the comfort of your home, ideally a camera-enabled device, and allow our team, which will be led by our experienced enquiry team members and a social worker, to share a presentation, walk you through the adoption process, and explain the ongoing support we offer.

Please be assured that there will be no pressure to proceed to the next step following the event – Adoption Matters will walk alongside you at your pace, with honest guidance and helpful information.

Events typically last 60–90 minutes, depending on participation, and they are open to anybody who is interested in adoption that lives in our geographical coverage area, which includes:

- The North West
- Yorkshire & the Humber and parts of the North East
- Stoke, Staffordshire & Shropshire

If you’re considering adoption as a solo adopter, you may invite one person to join you at all Adoption Matters events, including future training sessions if you go on to adopt with us. This can be a family member or a friend. Please include their details on your registration form.
