In Ealing we believe that there is no such thing as the ‘ideal’ adoptive family. We are not looking for perfect parents who have not had any difficulties in life. In fact, we realise that people who have faced problems and worked through them are often stronger for the experience. We welcome enquiries from people from all walks of life and all different ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds to meet the needs of a wide range of children who are waiting for adoption.
We are particularly interested in hearing from families who could consider children who tend to wait longer to be placed for adoption – children over 4 years of age or part of a sibling group, from a different cultural heritage, or who have a disability.
The process of becoming an adopter takes at least six months. We would be happy to answer any questions that you may have and to provide you with detailed information about what is involved in adopting a child.
We make a long term commitment to our families, from your initial enquiry, throughout your assessment to the placement of children, their adoption and beyond. Our commitment to you as adopters and your children is lifelong and our aim is to provide the best support possible to you and your family, as and when required. We deliver a wide range of services, training and on-going support, as well as social events and opportunities to meet other adopters.
