Thurrock Council is working in partnership with the charity Coram to develop and deliver its newly integrated Adoption Service. Coram was the UK’s first children’s charity, set up in 1739, and it has continued to look after children who could not live at home for the 275 years since. Together, Thurrock Council and Coram are working to ensure that the county’s most vulnerable children, and their prospective adopters, benefit from the expertise and excellence in adoption social work practice that Coram has long developed and championed.
We aim to deliver a responsive and professional adoption service, to fulfill our role as a corporate parent and to meet the duties that are laid out for us in national legislation.
