Helping fostered children transition to a new family (London)
28 to 29 November 2017
Helping children to move from foster home to permanent placement has been a neglected area of practice. For many children, such moves are fraught, hasty and sometimes represent the loss of a significant carer.
This course will provide a framework for thinking through the key issues to consider during the transition of single or multiple placements, practical guidelines for minimising the potential difficulties that arise during planning and process of placements, and an understanding of how specific considerations and constraints affect the way professionals manage transitions with their own clients.
